It is a college affiliated with Balıkesir University, offering associate degree programs in vocational, applied, and formal education, with 16 departments and 20 programs within the framework of Technical, Social, and Health Programs. Balıkesir Vocational School prioritizes university-industry relations, industry-based education, applied training, foreign languages, computer use, and current technology.
Our college's greatest strength lies in its tenured faculty of 5 professors, 3 associate professors, 12 assistant professors, 42 lecturers, and a total of 62 faculty members. (September 2025) This strong faculty contributed significantly to Balıkesir University's 4th place ranking among 108 state universities in the 2018 academic incentive score ranking.
Since its inception, Balıkesir Vocational School has embraced every project undertaken by the Ministry of National Education, the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), and professional organizations to develop and improve vocational and technical education. It has striven to become a modern educational institution by revising its learning system and course content. Our school directly prepares its students for the business world by adopting the "3+1 Vocational Education in Business" model in seven programs. To this end, it has established strong partnerships with leading industrial organizations, businesses, and NGOs in the region, particularly the Balıkesir Organized Industrial Zone (BALOSB). Through these partnerships, students spend a portion of their education directly in factories and businesses, providing them with the opportunity to combine their theoretical knowledge with practice and build their professional networks before graduation.
Our college has also applied for Institutional Accreditation from the MEDEK Vocational Education Evaluation and Accreditation Association for three of its programs and has restructured its educational plans with a focus on continuous improvement.
Balıkesir Vocational School, which closely monitors technological developments, has launched the Artificial Intelligence Operator Program, aiming to train experts who can integrate AI solutions into the industry. The program began accepting students in 2025. It continuously updates its programs and curricula for future professions based on renewable energy and sustainability. With its strong academic staff and modern infrastructure, it continues to play a key role in meeting the need for qualified technicians and professionals in Balıkesir and the Southern Marmara Region.
